Colored and Textured Nails

One of the biggest beauty trends for fall 2010 is colored and textured nails. This trend was first seen at the New York Fashion Week. Textured nails are all about layering the nail polish, which is made of a matte formula, followed by a shiny top coat.

Color trends for this upcoming winter season include blue, beige, gray, and metallic. Blue is anticipated to be the most popular color. The look is funky, fresh, and attracts attention. Beige is the new sought after color of the season. It is a totally new shade, rarely worn before, and remains a relatively difficult color to find in the stores. Thus supply is low and demand high. Gray and metallic are also being featured this winter with gray posing as the new black. Look for Gray this winter! Leading beauty retailers offering the new nail polish colors are Sephora, Ulta and Nordstrom.

The Natural Look

popular make up trend for fall 2010 is the all-natural look. Flawless skin is said to be sexy. This look consists of a mineral foundation, a little bit of mascara, and bare lips. The best way for the all-natural look to be successful is to take care of your skin by washing it with a face wash on a daily basis. Some good face cleansers that can be used daily are Clearasil and Aveeno. You can find them at Wal-Mart, Target, and at most grocery stores. Brands that carry great mascaras are Benefit, Bare Escentuals, and Ulta. Bare Escentuals also makes an exceptional mineral foundation that when worn gives one the appearance of wearing no foundation at all.

Velvet

For fall 2010 velvet is one of the hottest trends. It is said to be the season’s most beloved material, and fits in with the idea of minimal and sleek. Velvets in all colors are making a comeback; however, red is anticipated to be the sought after color this season. The popular fall fashions of mini dresses, sweet frocks, and cool jackets can all be found in velvet. If you want the classy look, find yourself a mini velvet dress! A velvet dress will be great for the Thanksgiving or Christmas holidays. Fashion Designers showcasing velvet for this up and coming season include: Charlotte Roson, Zac Posen and Alexander Wang.
